Labiaplasty in Tunisia

With a growing interest on appearance and body parts, there is now a sharp increase from a large number of women who opt for genital cosmetic surgery to improve the appearance of their vaginal area. There may also be physical reasons for having a nymphoplasty.

Protruding labia minora can often cause a lot of physical discomfort when wearing bathing suits, tight shorts or underwear, or a moral discomfort with a loss of confidence in intimate relationships.

Expanded or hypertrophic labia minora may be functionally or socially embarrassing. Enlarged labia minora can have a prominent and abnormal appearance that can be bothersome. The enlargement of the labia minora may be caused by childbirth and other hormonal causes.

Labiaplasty principle

The labiaplasty or labial reduction surgery involves a plastic surgical technique to reduce the size of the labia minora and of harmonizing to make them more attractive, more comfortable and slimmer.

The purpose of the labia reduction surgery is to preserve most of the natural contour, pigmentation, and the sensitivity of the labia minora with minimal scarring. The labia minora are not deleted because they are necessary to protect sensitive internal areas.

There is minimal scarring which will be carefully made to be hidden by the natural folds around the lips.

The nymphoplasty is a simple procedure that is:

• Performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.
• Takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The nymphoplasty can be performed as an outpatient.

You must ensure that you will not have your period on the day of your operation.

Labiaplasty procedure

There are several labiaplasty techniques. The two best known and most practiced techniques are: the technique of longitudinal resection (oldest) and triangular resection or V-technique (most recent).

Labia reduction surgery is oftend performed with hymenoplasty surgery or vaginoplasty.

Postoperative

You will have a slight edema and with a sensation of discomfort.

You will need to wear a small pad while 1 to 2 weeks after the lip reduction. Avoid using tampons.

Care: take a shower once or twice a day, and dry the area. Avoid strenuous activity and sexual intercourse for 3-4 weeks after surgery.

Sitting, going to the toilet and having sex will be painful at first. The sutures are absorbable so there is no need to remove them.

Labiaplasty risks

There are risks with any form of surgery; nymphoplasty is considered a relatively safe surgery.

The risks of labiaplasty: infection, post-operative bleeding, the reduction of the sensitivity is usually transient, an over-correction of the labia minora, tight scars making painful penetration.

Labiaplasty results

In general, the results of the nymphoplasty give great satisfaction: Reshaping the labia minora to a form more natural and attractive, acquisition of confidence and relief from considerable physical discomfort. The surgery will allow you to wear tight clothes and participate in sports that previously you were not able to do them.

However, it can take up to six weeks to see the final result.
